Wrap week is everyone's
least favorite week.

Every shoot ends the same way. A stack of receipts from six departments, three petty cash envelopes half-stuffed under a van seat, and someone — usually you — responsible for making the numbers add up before production accounting starts sending emails.

You're entering line items by hand. You're guessing which account the lumber goes to. You're finding the $0.03 discrepancy at 11pm because the total doesn't match and you can't figure out why.

PettyLedger handles the data entry. You make the decisions.

Pain Points · Wrap Week
01
Receipt stacks with no context Hardware store, Starbucks, Home Depot, a CVS — all in one envelope, nothing coded.
02
Manual account assignment Is the lumber set construction or art dept? Every line item is a judgment call made at midnight.
03
Totals that don't match Off by $0.03 somewhere. You'll spend 45 minutes finding it. PettyLedger catches it instantly.
04
Cost reports due yesterday Production accounting needs clean data. Export a formatted CSV in two clicks.

Four steps.
Under two minutes.

On API costs
PettyLedger uses Claude AI to read receipts. You bring your own free API key from console.anthropic.com. Parsing costs roughly $0.01–0.03 per receipt — a full 10-day shoot's worth of receipts typically runs under $2 in API fees. PettyLedger itself costs $49 once. That's it.

One price.
Own it forever.

Why $49?

Production coordinators and art dept coordinators spend real time on wrap-out paperwork — often hours per shoot. If PettyLedger saves you two hours over a project, it's paid for itself by the first use.

There's no subscription because there's nothing to subscribe to. The app runs on your Mac. Your data stays in your database. When you buy it, you own it — including all future updates.

The AI costs are yours to control via your own Anthropic API key. A full wrap week of receipts typically costs under $2. You're not funding a server farm.

Stuff coordinators
actually ask.

What's the Anthropic API key and where do I get it?
PettyLedger uses Claude AI to read receipts. You get a free key at console.anthropic.com — takes about 2 minutes. You paste it into Settings once and forget it. API costs are pay-as-you-go, typically $0.01–0.03 per receipt.
Does my receipt data go anywhere?
The receipt image is sent to Anthropic's API for parsing (same privacy model as any Claude product), then results come back to your machine. Nothing is stored anywhere but your local database. No PettyLedger servers, no accounts, no sync.
What Mac do I need?
Any Mac running macOS 12 or later. You need Python 3 installed — free from python.org, 5 minutes. PettyLedger includes a step-by-step INSTALL.md if you've never done it.
How do I actually run it?
Download the zip, unzip it, double-click PettyLedger.command. Your browser opens. That's the whole process — no installer, no admin password, no configuration screen.
What receipt formats work?
JPEG, PNG, and PDF. Phone photos of thermal receipts work well. Scanned PDFs work. Slightly blurry or crumpled receipts usually parse fine — Claude handles messy real-world images.
Is this compatible with CASHét or Movie Magic?
PettyLedger exports CSV and Excel files formatted for your production accountant. You can also import your own chart of accounts from CSV — including account lists adapted from CASHét, GreenSlate, PSL, or internal cost trackers. No direct integration, but a clean data handoff in both directions.
What production accounts are pre-loaded?
Art Dept, Set Construction, Props, Craft Services, Locations, Wardrobe, Transportation, and a few others. You can edit, rename, or add accounts. The list is a starting point, not a locked system.
What if something doesn't work?
Email [email protected] and I'll fix it or refund you. This is a small tool made by one person — if something's broken, I want to know.
